How can I notify others that I may need help with social distancing?
RNIB have been working with the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Scheme (makers of the Sunflower Lanyard), to create a symbol for use on a range of accessories to indicate the wearer may need help to social distance.
The symbol has already been used by the Cabinet Office on a printable badge and card or a mobile phone screen download. Further information on the free downloads can be found on the GOV.UK website.
The range of products created in collaboration with the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Scheme were launched on the 22 September and can be bought online from the Please give me space website.
The range consists of:
- lanyard
- lanyard ID card
- face mask
- badge
- snood
- tabard
The products are not just for the Blind and Partially Sighted community and may be useful for other groups and individuals such as those previously shielding, for example the more ‘at risk’ groups such as the elderly or medically vulnerable.
Further information on the products and RNIB's involvement can be found on RNIB's Please give me space web page.
