How can I maintain good eye health and avoid infections during the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic?

As the infection is spread through droplets and fomite, practising good hand hygiene is key to maintaining good eye health. Patients with chronic eye conditions should monitor their eyes (one at a time) for any sudden change in the symptoms. If in doubt, medical advice should be sought from local GPs, optometrists or ophthalmologists. Please see How do I get help if I am worried about my eyesight?

If you need further advice or support during this time, please call RNIB on 0303 123 9999 or visit the gov.uk coronavirus (Covid-19) web pages, along with additional information for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Additional useful information regarding general care during the coronavirus pandemic can also be found on the NHS website.
