Can I take my guide dog with me when I go out?

Yes. Guide dog owners and other blind or partially-sighted people have important rights under the Equality Act in England, Scotland and Wales and the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) in Northern Ireland.

The Equality Act and the DDA provide for blind and partially-sighted people to have the same right to services supplied by shops, banks, hotels, libraries, pubs, taxis and restaurants as everyone else. Service providers also have to make “reasonable adjustments” for guide dog owners and other people with sight loss.

Further information and advice can be found on the Guide Dogs website.
