Am I entitled to Personal Independence Payment?

If you are aged over 16 and under state pension age and are blind or partially sighted then you could be entitled to Personal Independence Payment (PIP).

No-one is automatically entitled to it and you will have to make a claim that shows you need help in your daily life or getting out and about (or both), but many blind and partially sighted people of working age are successful in claiming some level of this benefit.

Please note: If you were aged between 16-64 on or after 8 April 2013 you will be invited to claim PIP if previously on DLA. However, If you were already 65 or over on 8 April 2013, then you will not be reassessed for PIP and will remain on DLA. In Northern Ireland this is from 20 June 2016.
