Where can I get a grant for technology?

If you are on a low income and have sight loss there are many organisations that run grant giving schemes that you can apply for.

RNIB's technology for life team provides advice on technology as well as running a grant scheme. You can find more information on their grants from RNIB web page.

Guide Dogs offer a grants programme that allows you to apply for accessible technology equipment for your child that you otherwise wouldn't be able to access. Guide Dogs access technology team are also able to provide advice on technology for children. Further information can be found on Guide Dogs access technology and grants web pages.

VICTA has a grants programme for assistive technologies for children and young adults who are registered or are register-able blind or partially sighted up to and including the age of 29 years and who are permanent residents in the UK. All items supplied through this scheme are for home use only (not for school or college). Further information can be found on the VICTA grants web pages.

Henshaws have a list of grant awarding charities which you can request via an online form on their website or by calling them on 0300 222 5555. It includes organisations that may be able to fund the purchase of technology, equipment, education or in some cases day to day living expenses.
