How do I adjust the volume of TalkBack on an Android device?
To change the speaking volume to suit your personal preference:
- If TalkBack is speaking: press the Volume up or Volume down key
- If TalkBack isn't speaking: hold one finger on the screen and press the Volume up or Volume down key.
When any media is playing either from your device or streaming from the internet, the Volume keys control the media volume and not TalkBack. To change TalkBack volume whilst media is playing, place one finger on the screen and press the Volume up or Volume down keys.
You can also adjust the volume of TalkBack by going into the Settings:
- Tap Settings and then tap TalkBack
- Another Settings icon will appear on the top right of the screen. Tap this and then tap Speech Volume
- Adjust the slider by flicking right or left.
