How do I claim Carer’s Allowance?

Please note that Carer’s Allowance has been replaced with Carer Support Payment, administered by Social Security Scotland, for people living in Scotland.

You can apply for Carer's Allowance by calling the Carer's Allowance Unit on 0800 731 0297 or textphone 0800 731 0317.

You can also download a claim form or apply online on the GOV.uk Carer's Allowance webpages.

If you live in Northern Ireland visit nidirect.gov.uk or call the Disability and Carer’s Service on 0800 587 0912 or textphone 0800 012 1574.
