Can I work and claim Carer’s Allowance?

You can work part-time but must earn less than £151 per week after deductions for tax, National Insurance, and certain expenses such as contributions to a pension or certain care costs. If in any week you work and earn over the limit, you will lose all of your allowance.

Carer’s Allowance is not means-tested and does not depend on your having paid National Insurance contributions.
