How can I prevent my child getting eye injuries?
There are about 1,000 serious accidental eye injuries to children in the UK every year. Even with the best treatment, these injuries can affect vision. These can include:
-
laser pen and laser toys
-
sports related injuries
-
chemical injuries - often common household chemicals i.e. washing detergent pods
-
fireworks
Further information on children's eye injuries and how to make reasonable and informed precautions can be found on the Moorfileds NHS Paediatric information: for parents website.
