Things to think about include: 

  • Make sure you do your research before you travel 

  • Check if you need special travel insurance 

  • Explain everything and beware that sometimes new places may provide a lot of sensory information and your child may need time to adjust 

  • Be prepared for how weather or the environment might affect your child’s eye condition. Consider things such as glare and think sun hat, sunglasses, eye shields etc 

  • Go through the room/hotel/complex layout and where things will be located during your stay
