How does someone guide me?

There are no hard and fast rules on how someone should guide you, RNIB's Guiding a blind or partially sight person web page offers suggestions for guiding safely and sensibly.

If there is someone who you would like to guide you on a regular basis, it could be worth them attending a course on guiding or visual awareness (which usually involves some guiding). Your local voluntary society for blind or partially sighted people may run courses and will be able to give you some pointers about guiding.

You can find your nearest local society on the Sightline Directory by entering your postcode and the search words 'local society'.
