I can’t get to the shops, is there any help?

Depending on where you live, there will probably be a local community transport operator which provides a service that will drop off local residents at a supermarket or nearby town centre. They may also operate, or be able to direct you to, a local Shopmobility scheme which can provide equipment or a guide for your shopping trip, you can find your local transport operator on the Community Transport Associations website.

Some voluntary organisations and local societies for people with sight loss also offer shopping services, where a volunteer will do your shopping for you. Find your nearest local society on the Sightline Directory by entering your postcode and the search words 'shopping'.

Another option is online shopping, which is now offered by most high street stores as an easy and accessible alternative to organising a trip into town. Most supermarkets now offer you the option of choosing a delivery time suitable to your needs.
