How do I turn on high contrast mode in Windows?

A high contrast theme can be useful if you find that there is not enough contrast between the different elements on your screen. High contrast uses a limited colour palette with contrasting colours to make things easier to see.

To turn on high contrast choose the start button - Settings - Ease of Access - High contrast. Alternatively, you can utilise keyboard shortcut keys to access the Ease of Access centre (Windows Key and U), tab once followed by down arrow five times then 'Enter' to access this menu option.

Under the High Contrast menu, you can toggle on/off the option to turn high contrast mode on or off, or utilise the keyboard shortcut Left Alt, left Shift and Print Screen. Windows also has a range of in-built high contrast themes which have different colour variations. You can also adjust themes or set your own and alter the colour preference of Text, Hyperlinks, Disabled Text, Button Text and Background colour.
