Are there any gyms for children with a vision impairment?
The Tackling Inequalities in Leisure Standard supports leisure centres to be more welcoming and accessible environments to disabled people. To achieve Tackling Inequalities in Leisure Standard accreditations, leisure centres and gyms must complete one of two quality assessments that demonstrate their proficiency in supporting individuals with disabilities.
Find an accredited gym or leisure centre through the Activity Alliance. .
If there is no accredited gym near you, call your local gym and see what services they offer. Ask if you can go round with your child, so you can support them.
In England, families can use their local authority’s Local Offer to find specialist providers and activities.
