How do I talk to my child about their vision impairment?

Your child’s vision impairment can be a sensitive topic, both for your child themselves and for the rest of the family. This can be even more of a challenge if the condition is progressive and means their vision will get worse over time. Research shows that young people have different levels of understanding of their own eye condition, would often like to know more than they do, and have had varying levels of opportunity to talk to other people to find out more.
