What help is available for Blind Veterans?

There are a large number of organisations supporting veterans and the Armed Forces community, whether you are based in the UK or abroad.

Blind Veterans UK is one of the main support charities for Veterans with sight loss. They have a wide range of services and facilities that you can benefit from including introduction weeks, rehabilitation training, residential care and clubs and associations.

Blind Veterans UK are also involved in The Veterans' Gateway which has been created in order to help you find other organisations that can provide the support and guidance you are looking for. Other organisations and Armed Forces charities involved in the Gateway include The Royal British Legion, SSAFA - the Armed Forces charity, Poppyscotland, Combat Stress and Connect Assist.

Many of the Gateway team are veterans themselves so understand the issues that people face after leaving the Armed Forces.

They work with people on a one-to-one basis, connecting them with the right support as soon as possible.
