Am I eligible to have a free Covid test?
On 1 April 2022 free NHS testing for Covid ended for most people in England and you are no longer advised to test. If you still want to get tested and you're not eligible for a free NHS test, you must pay for the test yourself. You can buy them from some pharmacies and retailers, in person or online. You cannot order them from NHS 111 or 999.
Who can get a free NHS Covid test
There are a small number of people who will still be able to get free Covid tests from the NHS.
- If you have a health condition which means you're eligible for Covid treatments
- If you work in health care or a hospice
